Your Generosity Has Become the Answer to Their Prayers

Your Generosity Has Become the Answer to Their Prayers

There was great joy and gratitude as these children finally received the opportunity to undergo the surgeries they had needed for so long.

On June 29, 2026, Obor Berkat Indonesia successfully provided free cleft lip and palate surgeries for seven children at Bethesda Hospital in Gunungsitoli, Nias. This was made possible through your continued prayers, compassion, and generosity as you faithfully partner with us.

For these families, the surgeries were an answer to years of prayer. They also marked the beginning of a better future for their children. One of the children who received this assistance was Vian, a seven-month-old baby from Bawodesolo Village, Gunungsitoli, Nias. Vian was born with a cleft extending from his upper lip to the roof of his mouth.

This condition has not been easy for either Vian or his family. His parents have had to be especially careful when caring for and feeding him each day.

Despite their limitations, Vian’s family continued to persevere and hold on to the hope that their son would receive the medical care he needed. That hope began to become a reality when Vian was given the opportunity to participate in OBI’s Life Changing Surgery program.

Filled with hope and joy, Vian traveled with both of his parents from their village to the hospital by motorcycle one day before the surgery. Throughout the entire process, a CBN-OBI facilitator faithfully accompanied the family, assisting them from the registration process until the treatment was completed.

Praise God, the surgery was successfully performed the following day.

During his recovery, Vian experienced mild pain around the surgical area and some discomfort because he had been required to fast. However, his condition was continuously monitored by the medical team. The next day, Vian was declared stable and was allowed to return home with his parents.

“Perhaps this is God’s provision for our son, Vian. Thank you to Obor Berkat and all the donors,” shared Mintaria Harefa, Vian’s mother.

However, this journey is not yet over. Other children are still waiting for their opportunity to receive surgery as medical preparations and further scheduling continue.

OBI therefore invites our partners and donors to continue supporting this ministry. Your support is deeply meaningful in helping more children receive the opportunity to heal, grow, and face the future with greater confidence.

Let us continue to be part of bringing new smiles to children in need!
