This story begins with the trust you have placed in us. Through your faithful support, OBI-supported tailors were once again given the opportunity to work on a Christmas ornament production project. A group of microenterprise beneficiaries from GBI Rock Madiun worked together to produce these ornaments.
Production began in early August, and by September 5, the first 1,000 ornaments were completed and delivered to OBI’s head office. An additional 1,000 ornaments entered the quality-control phase on September 23. This project provided more stable income opportunities for the tailors involved.
The impact was felt directly in daily life. One beneficiary deeply impacted was Mrs. Hesty, a handcrafted business owner who has been mentored by OBI since 2024 within the GBI Rock Madiun community. She runs her sewing business from home while caring for her family. Like many small business owners, she once faced irregular work opportunities and income that was often insufficient to meet daily needs.
Being part of this large-scale project brought meaningful change. With the income she earned, Mrs. Hesty was able to purchase a used motorcycle, greatly improving her daily mobility for both family needs and business operations. A simple step, yet one that opened new possibilities for her business to continue growing.
Outside this project, she continues to sustain her income through smaller local orders. Together with fellow OBI-supported tailors (Mrs. Desi, Mrs. Dorkas, and Mrs. Sulami) she shares experiences and encouragement. Ongoing mentorship gives her confidence that her business can continue to grow, step by step.
Through your continued support, this empowerment program keeps moving forward. Thank you for being part of this journey, taking small actions that bring real change to communities.
