Small Business Capital Assistance: Bringing Great Hope to Families in Need
Thanks to your support, OBI continues to assist underprivileged families through a business capital assistance program for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Throughout 2024 and into the beginning of this year, 20 families have received support to develop their businesses. Five of these families received assistance earlier this year, including resilient mothers who are the backbone of the most vulnerable families.
Your support has opened a door of hope for each beneficiary, helping them break through their economic limitations and improve their standard of living. This is the story of Mrs. Margrieta, a 71-year-old single mother from Ungaran, Central Java.
The woman, affectionately known as Rieta, has been working hard to make a living by selling various snacks under the name Kamita Snack, such as frozen risoles, cream puffs, and chicken lemper. With minimal resources, she sells her products daily in front of her house and also uses social media platforms like Facebook and WhatsApp.
However, the income from this small business is only enough to meet daily needs, sometimes even falling short. This has made it difficult for Mrs. Rieta to expand her business by improving her facilities. Thanks to your helping hand, this strong mother received assistance in the form of a new display cart, freezer, vacuum sealer machine, and various cake-processing equipment on September 28, 2024.
Mrs. Rieta shared, “The freezer assistance has been a tremendous help. Praise God, all of this is because of His blessings.”
Now, her business capacity has grown. With the help of her child, she continues to expand her market reach, even offering her products on online marketplaces.
