Seeing children grow up healthy and full of energy each morning is truly a blessing. Through your support, OBI’s Nutritious Breakfast Program continues to make a difference, helping prevent stunting and improving early childhood nutrition for six full months.
This program was first implemented in four early childhood centers (PAUD) across East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) for six months in 2024. The impact was clear: children became healthier and more enthusiastic about going to school, while parents grew more aware of the importance of nutritious food for their children’s growth and development.
One of the schools that experienced this impact was PAUD Glorya Efrata Karisin in Oefeto, Kupang Regency. When OBI planned to provide a second phase of food assistance, the school declined, not because they didn’t need it, but because they had already received similar support from the government.
According to Mrs. Yacoba, the school’s coordinator, their PAUD was chosen by the government precisely because it had successfully implemented OBI’s Nutritious Breakfast Program before. This became solid proof that OBI’s initiative opened the door for sustainable support from other partners.
Now, OBI is expanding the program to reach 332 children across 12 early childhood centers in NTT, so that more young children can grow strong and healthy from an early age. We also hope more parents will learn to provide nutritious meals using locally available ingredients.
