Nutritious Breakfasts That Strengthen Children’s Steps in Atambua

Nutritious Breakfasts That Strengthen Children’s Steps in Atambua

Because of your support, children at PAUD Ecclesia Atambua no longer begin their school day on an empty stomach. Today, 21 children receive nutritious breakfasts before starting their learning activities. This simple step is making a meaningful difference in their daily lives.

Before the program began, many children brought very simple meals from home. Some only had rice with boiled eggs, soup with tempeh, or instant noodles. Teachers noticed how this affected their energy and learning habits.

Gabriel Revan Manu and his younger sister, Maria Clarissa Manu, are among the children who experienced the impact of this program. Their parents work as traveling vegetable sellers, with limited income to support daily needs, including nutrition.

Previously, both children’s growth had become a concern. Revan weighed around 14 kg, while Clarissa weighed 11 kg. After regularly receiving nutritious breakfasts at school, positive changes began to appear. Revan’s weight increased to 17 kg, and Clarissa’s to 14 kg. Their height also improved.

The atmosphere during mealtime at school has also changed. Children now enjoy eating together with enthusiasm. Clarissa even asked her mother to cook vegetables at home like the ones she eats at school.

Over the past several months, hundreds of nutritious meals have been distributed during school days. Even when challenges arose, the school continued the program using internal funds so the children could keep receiving healthy meals.

For teachers and parents, this program helps children grow healthier and learn with greater confidence.

Thank you, OBI partners. Together, we can continue providing nutritious meals for more children in remote communities across Indonesia.
