Mrs. Lina’s Small Business Continues to Grow Because of You

Your support helped Mrs. Lina start a small business in front of her home in Kupang. Until today, that support continues to help sustain her family’s income despite the challenges she faces as a single parent.

After her husband left the family, Mrs.Lina returned to live with her parents along with her child, her brother, and a nephew who had also lost his father. In daily life, she not only supports her own child but also contributes to the needs of extended family living together.

One of her children attends the School of Life, where the Obor Berkat Indonesia team first became more familiar with the family’s situation and needs. To support daily expenses, Mrs. Lina opened a small stall selling drinks and snacks behind SD Oetete 3. Most of her customers are students from nearby schools.

At the end of 2024, through your support, she received business assistance in the form of equipment such as a freezer, blender, and beverage supplies to help stabilize her business.During the early stages, heavy rainfall limited the number of customers. Flooding in nearby areas also affected her sales. Despite this, she continued selling it every day.

Gradually, she added more items such as sugar, cooking oil, soap, and other daily necessities. Over time, her stall became known in the neighborhood, and her income increased. By the end of 2025, her monthly profit had reached more than one million rupiah, helping sustain her family’s needs.

Along the way, Mrs. Lina also faced health challenges due to severe asthma that required regular medical checkups. She is grateful that the national health insurance program helped cover her treatment costs. In recent months, strong winds and heavy rain forced her to temporarily run the business from home. Sales decreased by about 15%, but her income still supports her family’s needs.

Your support continues to keep this small business running and brings real hope to her family. Thank you for walking alongside families like Mrs. Lina’s.
