Learning to Grow, Learning to Love 

Every child deserves the chance to grow and understand themselves, especially during adolescence, when so many things begin to change and feel confusing. 

We’re grateful to walk alongside children like Benidiktus as they learn to know themselves and grow up with the right values, made possible through your faithful support. 

Benidiktus, or Beni, is a 12-year-old boy from Bawomataluo. He has lived with his grandparents since his parents separated. 

He is the youngest of three siblings. His oldest sister now lives with their mother in Jakarta, while his second sibling passed away due to stunting. 
Although he grew up without his parents at home, Beni is known as a cheerful and active boy. 

However, when Beni entered puberty, the lack of guidance made it difficult for him to understand the changes he was experiencing. He began teasing his friends whose voices were changing, thinking it was funny. Without realizing it, his words hurt others. 

Everything began to change when Beni attended a School of Life Bawomataluo lesson called “My Body, God’s Creation.” 

 
During the session, the tutor explained how the human body develops and the natural changes that happen during adolescence. Beni listened attentively and finally found the courage to ask questions about things that confused him. 

Patiently, the tutor explained that every change is part of God’s wonderful design. From that moment, Beni learned that puberty isn’t something to be ashamed of and that everyone experiences it differently. 

Slowly, Beni began to change. He stopped teasing his friends and even apologized for his past behavior. He also learned to guard his heart and thoughts to stay pure. 

“I’m grateful because School of Life helps me learn to behave according to God’s Word,” he said with a smile. 

His grandparents also give thanks, seeing their grandson grow into a polite and kind-hearted young boy. 

Through your support, School of Life continues to be a safe place where children like Beni can grow in love and truth, preparing them to face the future with strength and wisdom.
