Sometimes, God works through the simplest things — like your support for a mother from Sidoarjo.
With her warm and skillful hands, Mrs. Elyati turns ordinary duck eggs into delicious, ready-to-eat salted eggs.
At 34 years old, Mrs. Elyati lives with her husband and two school-aged children. Her husband works as a daily construction laborer. When there’s work, the family’s needs are met — but when projects stop, so does their income.
To help support her family, Mrs. Elyati started making salted eggs. But with limited capital, she could only produce when she had a little extra money. Sales were also uncertain — sometimes the small shops selling her eggs couldn’t pay on time, or the eggs simply didn’t sell.
Seeing her perseverance, the local church pastor recommended Mrs. Elyati as a recipient of OBI’s Microenterprise Program. Since January 2025, she has received mentoring and new opportunities to market her products more widely.

One of her most memorable experiences was when her salted eggs were featured at the 2025 Disaster Risk Reduction Exhibition in Mojokerto. For the first time, she brought 150 eggs she had made herself. At first, she was nervous — afraid no one would buy them. But to her surprise, every single one sold out! Many visitors loved the taste and offered her words of encouragement.
“Thank you, OBI, for this opportunity,” she said with a bright smile.
Now, new orders are coming in from different areas. Mrs. Elyati hopes her business will continue to grow and help cover her children’s school fees.
From her gratitude, we see how even the smallest opportunity can spark new hope. Let’s keep walking hand in hand with OBI to continue giving families like her the chance to build a better future.
Because we believe — every act of kindness you share brings light to places that need it most.
