At PKBM OBI, every changed life is a reminder of the impact you make. Through your support, children who once felt lost are finding hope again—just like 17-year-old Sakila Agustin.
After her parents’ divorce, Sakila withdrew from school and struggled emotionally. “I felt completely lost,” she shared. Yet her desire to learn remained. When a former tutor told her about PKBM OBI, she chose to try again.
On her first day, Sakila arrived afraid of being rejected. OBI teachers noticed her anxiety and walked alongside her through counseling and character lessons. A session on forgiveness became a significant turning point.
“That day, I chose to forgive my parents… I didn’t want to hold onto bitterness anymore,” she shared.
Little by little, Sakila began to heal. She became more active in her studies and even started using her God-given talents to help younger students. “She’s now teaching dance to the younger girls,” said her teacher, Mr. Yaatulo Laia.
