Clean Water Is Now Closer for Families in Hilifaosi Village

Clean Water Is Now Closer for Families in Hilifaosi Village

We are grateful that, through your support, the Rainwater Harvesting System program in Hilifaosi Village was officially dedication on March 27, 2026. After years of waiting, families in this community no longer need to walk deep into the forest to collect clean water. A total of 35 rainwater harvesting units are now being used by families in the village.

Each small step we take together opens the way for real change. Your support makes it possible for us to continue providing simple yet meaningful solutions for clean water access. Previously, many families depended on rainwater stored in ground pits near their homes. During the dry season, children often had to walk to rivers in the forest to collect water, or families had to carefully ration their limited supply. It was not uncommon for children to go to school without taking a bath.

Marfel, a 7-year-old boy, experienced these challenges firsthand. His family relied on rainwater stored in a simple pit near their home. When rainfall was low, their daily activities were affected. Because of your care for children in remote communities, Marfel’s family now has a safer and more hygienic water storage system with greater capacity. Even when the rain stops, they no longer worry about running out of clean water.

Thank you for becoming a blessing to children and families in Hilifaosi Village.
