A Ray of Hope for Children in the Arfak Mountains 

Your support is truly making a difference, including for children living in the Arfak Mountains of West Papua. 

Through the Super5 Early Childhood Education program, children now have a safe place to learn and grow. They are beginning to read and write, learning to play together, and being guided to build positive character from an early age. 

Although the school does not yet have its own building, a local church serves as the classroom. The simple church walls are now filled with children’s drawings and artwork—quiet signs of joy and hope born from the learning process taking place there. 

The impact of this program is also felt by educators. Yunus, one of the facilitators at PAUD Imanuel Mbrey Uliar Arfak, was initially unfamiliar with technology. Through ongoing training and mentoring, he is now able to participate in online learning and continues to grow in his ability to better support the children. 

To ensure the school can continue operating without placing a burden on parents, Yunus and the church congregation work together to tend to a shared garden. The harvest helps support the school’s daily needs. This simple effort allows children to keep learning with peace of mind. 
“If we don’t fight for our children, who will?” He said with heartfelt conviction. 

Yunus is deeply grateful for Super5’s presence in his community, which brings hope for young children to grow in faith and character. 
“Super5 has brought light to this place. Now our children have hope,” he shared quietly.
