Your Kindness Has Brought Water to Every Home and School 

Your helping hand has brought joy that is now felt by the people of Dusun 3 Fatuoni, Ekateta Village, Kupang Regency. 

The bore well built by OBI doesn’t just provide clean water at one point—it now flows directly into every household through connected pipes. The gratitude of the residents is seen in their excitement and teamwork as they helped connect the water lines themselves. 

“At first, each family was asked to contribute Rp15,000 per month,” said Mrs. Dina Mariana Olla, Head of Dusun 3 Fatuoni. “But the residents decided on their own to raise it to Rp25,000, because we feel so helped and no longer need to buy water.” 

Water from the bore well also reaches SD Negeri Amnono, a school that was recently rebuilt by the community after it was destroyed by a storm. “We didn’t use any professional builders,” recalled Dominson Selay, the school principal. “Everyone helped—some built, some cooked. The total cost was Rp54 million, all from community contributions.” 

In the past, students had to bring water from home to bathe, clean the classroom, and water the plants. Now, with clean water available at school, they can take part in handwashing routines, group toothbrushing, and even plant flowers using recycled tires as pots. 

“Thanks to the bore well support from OBI, the children no longer need to carry water from home,” added Mr. Dominson. “We feel seen and cared for, even before any government aid came.”
