Your Generosity Transforms the Lives of Three Children with Cleft Lips and Palates Through Free Surgery
With your support, Obor Berkat Indonesia has provided free surgery for three children with cleft lips in August 2024. These children have faced numerous challenges in their lives, from difficulties in communication and digesting food to being considered different by other children. Thanks to you, their long-awaited cleft lip and palate surgeries have finally become a reality.
OBI Partners, here is the surgery process that the three children you have helped have undergone:
Davit Yitro
Davit (11 months) lives with his parents in Nule Village, NTT. It was a great desire for Davit’s parents to have him undergo surgery, but their income as farmers was insufficient to cover the costs. Until finally they heard about the free cleft lip surgery from OBI and immediately registered Davit. In collaboration with St. Carolus Borromeus Hospital in Kupang, NTT, Davit successfully underwent surgery on August 6, 2024. Now, he is still undergoing the post-surgery recovery process.
Yohana
Yohana (1 year old) and her parents live in Medan, North Sumatra. After previously undergoing cleft lip surgery, Yohana has now undergone cleft mouth surgery at Accuplast Hospital Medan on August 2, 2024.
This program (OBI free surgery) brought new hope to Yohana’s family. “Thank you so much to OBI and its donors for helping with our daughter Yohana’s palate surgery,” said Yohana’s mother.
Elicha
Since she was a baby, Elicha (11 years) has faced many difficulties due to her cleft lip condition. Even as she grew into her teenage years, she had not received the cleft lip surgery she needed due to her family’s difficult circumstances. Thankfully, the Life Changing Surgery (LCS) program, which you continue to support, provided Elicha with the long-awaited surgery. Her operation was successfully performed at Accuplast Special Surgery Hospital in Medan on August 5, 2024. Thank you, because of you, Elicha can now look to the future with confidence.
