Enam hari saat itu adalah perjuangan bagi Dice (23 tahun). Setiap hari ia harus berusaha lebih keras untuk melakukan berbagai aktivitas sambil menahan rasa sakit di ketiaknya.
SFor six days, Dice (23) struggled with constant pain. Each day she had to push herself to complete daily activities while enduring severe pain under her arm.
A painful boil in her right armpit made even simple movements difficult.
“At that time the pain was unbearable. Because the boil was under my arm, it was hard to move. Even lifting my arm to put on clothes was extremely painful because pus could come out,” Dice recalled.
At the time, Dice could only rely on basic home treatment. Not because she did not want to seek medical care, but because healthcare access was quite far from her village and required transportation.
Dice and her husband also live in very modest circumstances. Her husband works as a carpenter at a warehouse near their home. His income is uncertain and heavily dependent on the weather. During the dry season he earns around Rp700,000–Rp800,000 per month, but during the rainy season it can drop nearly half.
With such conditions, buying medicine was not always a priority. Hope came when Dice attended a church service at GMIT Efrata Karisin.
During the service, an announcement was made that OBI would be holding a free medical outreach after the service. Without hesitation, Dice decided to come.
After registering, Dice was examined by the medical team and diagnosed with furuncle, a skin infection commonly known as a boil. She received four types of medication along with clear instructions on how to take them properly.
Dice listened carefully; her heart filled with gratitude.
“After receiving treatment, I was given medicine to take after breakfast and dinner. I took it for about two days, and the boil was almost ready to burst. The pain gradually decreased until it finally healed and disappeared.”
With teary eyes, Dice expressed her sincere gratitude for the healthcare services provided.
For her, medical services like this are very helpful for people in the community around the church—especially elderly people and families who struggle to access affordable healthcare.
“I am very grateful and thankful to Obor Berkat Indonesia for organizing this medical outreach. Through this service, people who are sick can receive treatment and medicine, just like I did.”
The small actions you take every day bring meaningful impact to people like Dice through our healthcare services. Thank you for your faithfulness in continuing to help others together with Obor Berkat Indonesia.
