One inspiring story is that of Yohanes Christian, a young boy in Kupang suffering from hernia. Thanks to your help, Yohanes can now play football without pain.
Now, we invite you to once again help children suffering from hernias in Bali and Medan. Two children from each area will receive free surgery. One of them is El Sharon.
Sharon, a cheerful 4-year-old girl, has suffered from inguinal hernia for over a year. A growing lump in her lower abdomen—now the size of a chicken egg—often causes sharp pain during play.
She is the second of three children. Her father works as an online driver with unstable income, while her mother stays home caring for the kids. Due to financial hardship, they haven’t been able to afford the surgery Sharon needs so badly.
Despite the pain, Sharon remains joyful. She loves singing and dreams of becoming a cardiologist— inspired by her mom who often reads medical terms at home.
“I want to help many people,” she says sweetly.
