Your Support Helped Ria Heal and Improve Her School Grades 

Without you even realizing it, the support you have given through us has helped many children receive guidance that not only supports their learning, but also gives them space to heal and regain their confidence.

One of them is Ria Novianti Seo, affectionately called Ria, an 11-year-old girl from Belu, Atambua, East Nusa Tenggara. She is currently in 6th grade. From the beginning, Ria was known as a kind and bright child. However, there was a time when she did not feel brave enough to show her ambition.

At school, Ria once experienced treatment that made her feel unseen. “Back then, I went to school every day. Sometimes I was bullied. They said I was just trying to get attention. So I became afraid of everyone. I just stayed quiet,” she shared sadly.

That experience caused her to become more withdrawn, insecure, and afraid to speak up. It also affected her learning process. During Math lessons, Ria often felt confused with formulas and calculations. But she did not dare to ask her teacher because she was afraid of being accused of seeking attention again.

Her grades once fell below the standard, causing her to take extra assignments and remedial lessons.

Last year, Ria was invited to join the School of Life Ecclesia Atambua learning center to receive additional Math lessons. As a shy child, Ria was still afraid to ask questions. However, Mr. Okto and Miss Ika, her tutors, continued to gently approach and teach her. Through a warmer, more patient, and enjoyable learning method, Ria slowly began to feel safe to ask questions, try to answer, and not be afraid when she did not understand.

Beyond academics, Ria also learned about self-worth and self-awareness through the “Self Awareness” sub-theme. She began to understand that she is valuable and can continue to grow, even after experiencing hurt.

The change began to show. Ria became more open. “Now Ria talks more with her friends,” she said.

Praise God, through School of Life, Ria has not only improved academically, but has also grown in character and faith.
