Through your compassion and care, a father’s dream of providing for his three children did not end when he lost his job. 

Mr. Jarot, a father of three in Semarang, was affected by layoffs at his factory, making it increasingly difficult to support his family. With limited capital, he began selling fried rice as a small business. Although he had strong skills and a willingness to work hard, without proper equipment and basic financial management knowledge, his income was still insufficient to meet his family’s needs. 

We learned about Mr. Jarot’s situation through a pastor who also teaches his child at Super5 PAUD. Through support channeled via Obor Berkat Indonesia, we were able to assist him with business equipment, cart repairs, and raw materials. The OBI team also provided mentoring and basic bookkeeping training to help him manage his business more sustainably. 

The results of your generosity can now be seen daily at Mr. Jarot’s fried rice stall. His weekly income has stabilized, and his monthly profits are now able to cover his children’s school expenses. 

Today, Mr. Jarot is no longer merely surviving—he is building a future for his family. He has begun investing through goat farming and even purchased a generator to support his business in an area that frequently experiences power outages. 

Your support has laid a strong foundation. Even when extreme weather and flooding struck mid-December, Mr. Jarot’s business endured. Though the rain fell heavily, his hope remained firm, knowing that God continues to accompany his efforts.
