Following the CBN–Operation Blessing Dedication Day 2026 in Cikarang, Drew, President of Operation Blessing, continued his Mission Trip to North Sumatra from January 17–21, 2026.
During Dedication Day, Drew shared a simple yet deeply meaningful reminder: help without hope is not enough. Assistance that only responds to immediate needs—without restoring hope and dignity—cannot create lasting transformation. This value has become the foundation of this mission journey and reflects the heart that Obor Berkat Indonesia continues to live out alongside communities across Indonesia.
Together with leaders from CBN Southeast Asia, Obor Berkat Indonesia, and the media team, Drew visited several communities served through the Help & Hope Framework (HHF) in Nias and Medan. These visits included Hilihoya, Huno Sihareo, Bawomataluo, Gunungsitoli, GP Belawan Sicanang, and GBI Efata Sampali.
In each location, the team did not simply observe programs at work. They witnessed children receiving education, character being formed, and families being strengthened through close partnerships with local churches. These moments created space to listen to stories, understand real challenges, and see how hope is carefully nurtured and sustained within each community.
One significant milestone took place in Huno Sihareo with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the local church and CBN–OBI. This step reaffirmed the direction of our ministry moving forward: OBI does not seek to become a large organization, but to expand partnerships and empower local churches and leaders, allowing impact to reach more families and children.
