In the Midst of Sumatra’s Grief, Your Support Brings Hope 

Since late November, North Sumatra, Aceh, and South Nias continue to face serious impacts from the disasters that struck the region. In response, Obor Berkat Indonesia has been moving swiftly to ensure the most urgent needs are met. 

During ongoing hardship, we are once again reminded of how much your support means for the survivors of floods and landslides across Sumatra. Every family reached, every meal provided, and every shelter kit distributed is possible because of your compassion. 

So far, the OBI team with local facilitators and volunteers has reached five affected locations: Medan, Langkat, Sibolga, Nias, and North Tapanuli. 

A total of 180 ready-to-eat meals have been distributed to two communities, and nearly a thousand emergency food and shelter packages have reached families in need. We continue prioritizing children, the elderly, and the most vulnerable households. 

But we cannot continue this response alone, we still need your help. As we’ve been shown God’s grace, we can extend that same love to families who are urgently seeking support.
