We are deeply grateful to you for bringing back hope to those who once saw the world in a blur.
On May 27, 2025, through the Life Changing Surgery program, four people with cataracts received free eye surgery at Imanuel Hospital, Way Halim, Bandar Lampung. One of them was Mrs. Suwarti, a 61-year-old woman who lives alone in a small house left by her late husband.
Since her husband passed away and her children started their own families, Mrs. Suwarti has been living by selling snacks to neighborhood kids. Earning just around Rp100,000 every two weeks, she tries her best to survive without bothering anyone. But eight months ago, her vision started to get worse. Cataracts in her left eye made everything look cloudy, as if covered by thick fog. She became afraid to go far from home, and her daily activities became more limited.
She couldn’t afford the surgery. Her income was very small, and her health insurance hadn’t been active for a long time. Her children also didn’t have enough money, so the surgery felt impossible for her. But God made a way for Mrs. Suwarti.
One day, her child heard from a church pastor that OBI was offering free eye surgery. Without waiting, they signed her up.
Thank God, at the end of May, Mrs. Suwarti finally had her surgery. Everything went well, and now she’s in the healing process. Her sight is slowly getting better, and her spirit has come back.
“I’m so thankful I can see again. Thank you so much for your help,” she said with tears of joy.
Thank you, OBI Partners. You have become God’s helping hands for Mrs. Suwarti and the other three patients. Let’s keep working together with OBI to bring light to those who are still waiting to see clearly again.
